Property ownership is one of the foundations of a free society. While Texas is blessed to not have an income tax - something I'm fully committed to maintaining - our property taxes have risen at a level exceeding inflation for years.

I am proud to have coauthored the Largest Property Tax Cut in Texas History, which saved the average homeowner well over $1,000 per year. But the truth is, it's just the beginning of what needs to be done.

You can count on me to continue to invest in fully-eliminating our local school's M&O property tax, which accounts for half of the average property tax bill you pay every year.

Texas must continue down this path and help secure property ownership for the next generation.
